Set within the UNESCO World Heritage City of Evora, Convento do Espinheiro Heritage Hotel & Spa was just our kind of place: a hotel rich with character and history in a beautiful setting. The building was originally a monestary in the 15th century and today houses 59 guestrooms, a gourmet restaurant, a bar in the kitchen formerly used by the resident monks and a wine-tasting area carved from an ancient cistern. From this national monument, we had access to the Portuguese countryside, yet most days found us enjoying the indoor and outdoor swimming pools as well as the full-service spa. |
