Four Seasons Hotel Florence, Florence, Italy

With at least two amenities that are practically unheard of in Florence — an 11-acre private park and an on-site spa — Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is taking luxury living to new heights in this Renaissance capital. Original frescoes and reliefs grace the walls, while outside, a centuries-old private park invites quiet exploration. The Uffizi and Duomo are just a short stroll away. Your room is either in the 16th-century Conventino, formerly a convent, or in the 15th-century Palazzo della Gherardesca, once a palace; no two of the 116 bright bedrooms are alike. As for that spa, it boasts an outdoor pool, whirlpool and myriad treatments

In the hush of a centuries-old, walled, private garden, the largest in Florence, with winding paths, fountains and outdoor seating, Four Seasons offers a Tuscan villa, just minutes away from Michelangelo's "David". Situated near the right bank of the Arno, the Hotel is very close to the historic centre of the city with its famous architectural beauties: Piazza della Signoria, the Duomo with Giotto's steeple, Palazzo Pitti; as well as the elegant shopping street Via de' Tornabuoni. With only 117 rooms and suites, no two are alike, full of lovingly restored historic and artistic details: from frescoes and friezes to hand-painted basso relievos, beauty is all around.

Welcome to Four Seasons Hotel Firenze. An enchanted city sanctuary in the midst of Florence, where an art-filled Renaissance palazzo and conventino frame a centuries-old private park. Relax amidst original frescoes and sculptured reliefs, graced by sunlight and airy garden vistas. Sip espresso under majestic trees, lounge by the open-air pool or bask in Italian spa secrets. Wonders of the Uffizi and Duomo are a stroll away. Tuscan hill towns beckon.

Dining:

Located on the ground floor of the Palazzo Della Gherardesca, Il Palagio features vaulted ceilings, elegant décor and lovely views of the inner gardens. Large French doors open to a terrace that offers al fresco dining during clement weather. A seasonal menu features regional cuisine prepared with a contemporary twist, accompanied by exceptional Italian wines.

On the ground floor of the Conventino, La Magnolia offers an intimate venue that serves breakfast for guests staying in this section of the Hotel. As in Il Palagio, the delectable à la carte menu is wide-ranging, from freshly baked pastries to egg specialties, smoked fish and cold meats.

Hidden under the trees, next to the swimming pool and the spa, the new Al Fresco outdoor restaurant has a great view of the park. The poolside restaurant is our alternative for causal dining in the Hotel during summer. The menu features a selection of grill and barbecue specialities of fish, meat and vegetables, as well as authentic popular Italian recipes and international dishes.

A separate space located in the centre of Il Palagio, the Winery features open displays of close to 400 bottles of wine. A virtual temple of exceptional gastronomy, the Winery’s intriguing menu features a mix of traditional and contemporary local dishes served in small assaggini portions, accompanied by an abundant selection of wines, including vintage wines that can be tasted by the glass. As Florence’s most convivial meeting place, it appeals to connoisseurs and newcomers to wine alike.

Lounges:

Beneath a skylight in the Palazzo Della Gherardesca, the Atrium Bar offers an elegant setting for guests to enjoy light meals, coffee specialties, cocktails throughout the day and scrumptious afternoon teas. As the primary spot for people to meet in the Hotel, the Atrium Bar is the place to see and be seen in Florence. In the evenings, live piano music adds a soothing tone.

Located within the Spa, the tranquil Spa Lounge serves an all-day menu of nutritionally balanced snacks, drinks and homemade ice cream. Seats 16 indoors, 70 outside on the pool deck (serving only drinks in summer), including chaises longues and cabanas.

Spa:

Welcoming and tranquil, the Spa is an oasis of calm in the heart of the city, providing an exceptional experience for the mind, body and spirit. A wide range of inspiring treatments are offered in ten luxuriously appointed treatment rooms, occupying an expansive 791 square metres (8,511 square feet). Treatment rooms include one wet room, one double room and one double VIP suite. In between sessions, guests have full access to relaxation lounges and the outdoor pool and whirlpools to further enhance their spa experience. All the Spa’s offerings, including manicure and pedicure treatments, have been carefully designed to promote a sense of pampering and wellness.

In the adjoining hair salon, professional stylists are at the complete disposal of guests who wish to look perfect for a special night out, or who would like a makeover with an authentic Italian touch.

The hotel also features a fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool set in the formal gardens, a business center, laundry service, overnight shoeshine, multi-lingual Concierge, and more.
