Hotel Lutetia
I'm in hotel Lutetia. The room is so chic it's falling apart. This place was the headquarters of the Gestapo fifty years ago, and surely it hasn't been refurbished (except for the bathroom) which gives it all a more interesting aura. I don't even want to know what the carpets are covering.
That said, it is pure luxe. The food is excellent and the petit dejeuner room looks like a presidential meetings salon, characters taken out of a scott fitgerald novel- I have not yet grasped their dialect. It makes me regret I didn't bring my armani collezione suit for breakfast, to at least in appearance, adequately mingle with the other guests. Instead I'm going around with my comfy pastel yellow tracksuit and my navy pashmina that looks like a pijama next to the parisian cocktail outfits everyone is sporting.
