We recently visited La Tremoille, a Parisian gem fresh off an extensive renovation that has brought the hotel firmly into the 21st century. While retaining its rich sense of history and tradition, the hotel awed us with its sleek spa, black-marble bathrooms and ultra-chic Senso Restaurant (stop by the Senso Bar in the evening for its sophisticated nightlife). Fine art and antiques, as well as glittering chandeliers, adorn the public areas. Here in the famed Golden Triangle, we were just a short walk from the Champs-Elysees and exclusive shopping.

Historic Hotel de la Tremoille reopened in June 2002 after a year-long renovation that brought the chic Parisian boutique hotel firmly into the twenty-first century -- without leaving its rich history behind. The hotel is located in the heart of Paris' Golden Triangle in the 8th arrondissement at the corner of rue de la Tremoille and Boccador. La Tremoille is just a short walk from the Champs-Elysees and avenue Montaigne.

Restored antiques and chandeliers abound, but now each of the hotel's 88 rooms and junior suites and 5 deluxe suites features complete soundproofing, air-conditioning, direct-dial phones with voice mail, high-speed Internet access, DVD player, private safe, minibar, black marble bathroom, and more.

The reborn hotel now enhances its reputation for devoted service with a spa and fitness center complete with treatment rooms, sauna, jet shower, and gym. And to complete the update, London's incomparable Terence Conran crossed the channel to design Senso, the trendy on-site restaurant and bar. Long the favorite of visitors like Orson Welles and Sean Connery, Hotel de la Tremoille now offers a perfect union of the timely and the timeless.
