El Palace Hotel, first opened in 1919 with a neo-classical façade and grand public areas, has been totally refurbished and opened again in late 2009 as a renovated grand luxury hotel. Considered Barcelona's most iconic hotel for over 90 years, the works have preserved the classic spirit, distinguished as a symbol of the hotel tradition and considered nowadays as the only Luxury Classic Hotel in the city.

Location: Set in the heart of the city center, close to Paseo de Gracia and Las Ramblas. It will take only 30minutes to arrive by car to the airport and 15minutes to the port (subject to traffic conditions).

Accommodation: 120 new luxury rooms, 42 of them being Suites and Junior Suites, fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology. They are elegant, with classic luxury style combined with the most contemporary style in the bathrooms; some of them with Roman Bath decorated with different color mosaics. The exclusive Presidential Salvador Dali Suite is the most luxurious one decorated with original antiques.

Gastronomy: The Caelis Restaurant (opened Tue-Sat), by Chef Romain Fornell and awarded with a Michelin Star, with a full offer of top-class inventive food, inspired by French nouvelle cuisine. The 19/NINETEEN Restaurant (daily opened), is newly decorated in the style of a Parisian brasserie, for a delicious meal with plenty of organic choices and Mediterranean favorites. The new gastronomic restaurant, the Winter Garden (opened Thu-Mon evenings), has been recently inaugurated offering a menu based on medium sides with the best quality products as well as the most organic and ecologic dishes. In it, you can enjoy an incredible mix of cuisines, immerse yourself into the natural Mediterranean flavors and delight the most outstanding kitchen of our house Chef Marc Mallasen. Finally, located at the basement of the hotel there is the emblematic Bluesman cocktail bar, daily opened with refined cocktails and live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Is remarkable the new "Whisky Tasting Lounge" where it is possible to delight the best whiskies around the world as well as occasional marinated whisky tastings. Additionally, it is possible to buy the best cigars at the hotel's exclusive cigar's cave.

Mayan Spa: El Palace has launched the Mayan Luxury Spa and Fitness Room, a unique spa with a Temazcal Prehispanic Sauna exclusive in Europe. Inspired in the Maya Culture of Mexico, it becomes the ideal place where body, mind and soul are blended together.

New Diana’s Romantic Garden: recently opened at the hotel’s rooftop terrace including a totally ecological swimming-pool inspired in the Roman Baths designed by Cesar Ritz. More than 50 autochthone vegetal species configure the garden full of pergolas with different kind of flowers that will make client enjoy a sensorial experience with 360º panoramic views to Barcelona. The Gastronomic Restaurant called the Winter Garden honoring the antique hotel’s hall is completing this area.

Our CLASSIC DELUXE rooms are all exterior with abundant natural light, completely soundproof and some of them overlooking the Gran Via, one of the major commercial avenues in the city. Very spacious (38sqm - 380ft), totally restored and equipped with classical style furnitures, very comfortable and integrating a decorative fireplace from 1919. Some may have small balconies, subject to availability. Its main feature are the original restored Roman Baths, which can be used as a bathtub or a shower, and are decorated with different colours and mosaics.

Salvador Dali Presidential Suite

At Salvador Dalí's Suite, Jaime Beristain for Gaston and Daniela studio, has moved the concept used at the Hotel's Hall to reach the refined ambiance expected at an establishment with the history and prestige like El Palace. With 150m2 - 1615ft, composed by two bedrooms and a large living room of 50m2 - 538ft, it is furnished in an elegant classic style. The main room is decored with a four posted cannopy bed with king bed, and the second room has two twin beds which can be converted into a king.

Antiques carefully restored, desks and armschairs of the XIX Century, "chinnoiserie" cupboard, special fabrics made from old italian dasmascos patterns from the XVII Century, carpets manually made at India, italian and french mirrors from XIX and beginnings XX Centuries, together with silver objects owned from the private and historic collection of the Hotel make a luxurious and comfortable space that evoques the most important establishments of all times.

The bathrooms are inspired in the Old Roman Baths totally restored and decored with different colour mosaics, and they offer too a bath tub with spray jets.

El Palace states in its visitors book renamed personalities staying at this Suite like S.A.R Sonia of Norway, John Major, the Grand Duque of Luxembourg, Silvio Berlusconi, Frank Sinatra, Anthony Perkins, Julio Iglesias, S.A.R Noor of Jordan, Shania Twain, Pierce Brosnan, Mijhail Gorvachov and Woody Allen....however this Suite is memorable because is where the iconic artist Salvador Dali lived with Gala while he stayed in Barcelona.
