It was my first visit to The Marmara Bodrum, a medieval castle built by The Knights of St. John and I was immediately taken with the location at the confluence of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, the glamorous atmosphere and the luxurious guestrooms and suites. The authentic Turkish bath on-site is a must, as are the herbal body wraps at the spa. The Tuti Restaurant serves exquisite local cuisine with an emphasis on the area's produce; the Lounge Bar and Pool Bar are perfect spots for a light mid-day meal. Active types, ask about hiking and windsurfing nearby.

The Marmara Bodrum, with its 96 deluxe rooms, was decorated by a French architect, Christian Allart. The exterior architecture was designed by Ersen Gursel.

Standard rooms: The rooms are 32 square meters each, and have been designed to prioritize comfort first. All the rooms have a television, a bath, a telephone, a mini bar, a balcony or a terrace, special floor similar to ancient Greek stones, adjustable central air conditioning, music broadcast, a safe and 24-hour room service, all of which is very suitable for those who want to experience comfort and privilege at the same time.

Corner Room/Junior Suite: These expansive suites have views out towards Bodrum and spacious seating groups. Details: 40 - 45 sq. meters, spacious room with sofa bed, split level, terrace or balcony, shower and bath tub.

Garden Suites: The rooms are 50 square meters each and have a television, a bath, a toilet, a bathtub, Jacuzzi, hair dryer, a telephone, a mini bar, CD player, adjustable central air conditioning, music broadcast, a safe and 24-hour room service. These rooms have their own balconies and terraces.

Family Suite: This suite is 65 square meters and has an extra room for children and a living room, a bath with a Jacuzzi, a bath tub, 2 balconies with sea view, 3 televisions, CD player and 24-hour room service.

Party Animal Suite: This suite, located at the top floor of the Marmara Bodrum, is 70 square meters with its own roof terrace. It has 2 balconies leading to the roof terrace, a bath tub with a Jacuzzi, a DVD player, 2 large televisions, a work desk, a large living room, and 24-hour room service.
