The former vacation residence of John Paul Getty, La Posta Vecchia Hotel resonates with harmony and beauty, a haven of peace and pleasure. This property is about 45 minutes from Rome, the 17th-century villa occupies a park; it has its own private beach facing a calm sea, a Roman archaeological museum, a helipad and an indoor swimming pool. La Posta Vecchia provides just nine rooms and eight suites, as well as easy access to limousines, horses, golf and excursions ... all just 20 minutes from Rome's main airport.

We lived out an Italian fantasy while staying at La Posta Vecchia, the former villa home of John Paul Getty. Surrounded by fragrant gardens and quiet, tree-lined driveways, the estate brims with antiques, oriental carpets and gorgeous tapestries. Each individually designed guestroom has a view of the garden or ocean, and each has its own story. Spend lazy afternoons by the indoor pool or on the private beach, then dine under the stars or in the lovely dining room. There is even a small museum of Roman ruins in the hotel's basement.
