The ambience of The Inn at Perry Cabin from Orient-Express is so cozy and home-like, you'll be aching to stay indefinitely. Set in a manor house in the resort town of St. Michaels, this intimate retreat offers just 78 guestrooms, all with sleigh beds or turned-wood New England beds stacked with pillows and lighted by lamps. Each evening, your turndown service includes freshly baked cookies — a delightful way to end the day. The Linden Spa is not to be missed; treatments are based on local botanicals, such as linden blossom, verbena and black birch. Take time to relax in an Adirondack chair on the lawn and watch the boats cruise by.
The Inn at Perry Cabin; a distinguished country house hotel on the Maryland Shore. Within easy reach of Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia is St. Michaels, Maryland, a small town that seems to live in a time warp. It slumbers on a beautiful cove off the Chesapeake. When you visit The Inn at Perry Cabin, built just after the war of 1812, you can easily imagine you've taken leave of the Twentieth Century.
Driving along Talbot Street or come by boat from the Bay, the long, low, pearly-white Colonial mansion stands pristine and welcoming in its frame of emerald lawns. Approaching from any part of its twenty-five acre estate, you'll hear sounds of water: small boats sculling in Fogg Cove, birds on the Miles River, the hoot of big ships in the Bay. Inside the Inn, all the principal rooms face this bayside scene.
78 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, each individually furnished in its own particular theme. English and American antiques are elegantly offset by understated, classic fabrics and wallpapers. Luxury which is comfortable and cozy, an atmosphere conductive to rest and unwinding has been the aim in all the public rooms and guest rooms. All rooms feature a shower and bath or a shower/bath combination; TV; telephone; climate control; use of bathrobes; mineral waters and fresh fruit daily.
The Inn's excellent food is based on the riches of the locality, fresh fish and produce and Chesapeake specialties mixed with some fine international fare. Service is friendly but discreet. Using the finest produce, including local fare and herbs from our gardens, the kitchen staff, led by Executive Chef Mark Salter, strive to create menus of subtlety and imagination. Meals are served in the Dining Room. A menu of light fare is available 24-hours a day, except during dining hours.
The Inn will open its new spa June 15, 2007. Bicycles are available near the entrance door on a complimentary basis; charter fishing may be organized for individuals or large groups; two local golf courses; numerous sailing yachts and motorboats are available for rental nearby; outdoor swimming pool and fitness room are open daily from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
